Kate Steinitz               1951-1960

       

     After her move to California in 1942 and her new professional priorities resulting from being Dr. Belt's librarian, aesthetic concerns played a lesser role.  She never stopped drawing, but the materials, scale and extent of her subject matter reflect a pastime or means of recording events such as her numerous trips, rather than a full-fledged concern for artistic statement and personal style.
