| Kate Steinitz was a very social artist. She
and her husband, Dr. Steinitz had many famous artists visit their
home in Hannover. Kate had her friends "sign in".
Consequently, an amazing guest book was created. Artists as Schwitters,
Van Doesburg, Lissitsky, Moholy-Nagy and Buchheister signed,
doodled, and created works of art that can be found within its pages.
Kurt Schwitters (around March 1922) created this collage that was used as the cover of the 1977 Cologne Fax edition of the guest book. "To the dear family Steinitz from Kuwitter (Schwitters). |
